At Salek’s Motors, we realise customers have plenty of choice when it comes to garages in the local Southampton area. It makes us proud to know they prefer coming to our Wilson Street workshop for general garage services such as car servicing, vehicle repairs and Class IV MOTs. We’re not sure whether it’s our superior workmanship or our friendly approach to customer care that brings them to Salek’s Motors, but we’re clearly doing something right.
Like all good garages in the Southampton area, we have dedicated bays onsite which we use specifically for car servicing, for mechanical vehicle repairs and for MOT testing. Our workshop also has the facilities needed to perform bodywork repairs, either on a private basis to restore cosmetic damage or as accident repairs in the event of an insurance claim.
This page introduces a small selection of the garage services we provide for customers in and around Southampton, including those of Polish descent who we always make welcome.
This is one of our key garage services and something we offer to customers on a full or interim basis. Although manufacturer schedules might differ slightly, we recommend interim car servicing every 6 months or 6,000 miles after a full service. Salek’s Motors further recommends that you book in for full car servicing every 12 months or 12,000 miles.
Have your car serviced at a dealership in Southampton and there’s every chance the price will be much higher than our own. Main dealerships have more overheads and costs whereas independent garages like our own have complete control over their expenditure.
This helps us to keep car servicing affordable without ever invalidating existing warranties. Our technicians even stamp the book to help you preserve an ongoing service history. To save money, combine servicing with our Class IV MOTs and benefit from an inclusive price.
Mechanical repair work is a cornerstone of business for most garages in the Southampton area. At Salek’s Motors, we deliver vehicle repairs on all manufacturer marques, especially German cars because we operate as an independent Audi, BMW, VW and Mercedes specialist. Our company uses OEM replacement parts of a high quality but, upon the request of the customer, will also source original manufacturer parts to perform vehicle repairs.
All parts come with a warranty. Salek’s Motors also guarantees its workmanship. The same warranties and guarantees apply to accident repairs and bodywork repairs.
Our mechanics and technicians work on vehicle repairs using the industry’s latest engine diagnostic equipment, and also use market-leading hand tools from companies such as Snap-On and Mac Tools. Excellence is the hallmark of our garage services, and this is something reflected in every aspect of our business – even in the tools that we use!
There’s much more to our service range than car servicing and repairs. We also cover the Southampton area as MOT testing inspectors with approval from VOSA. Our garage conducts Class IV MOTs, a category that covers passenger cars, 4X4 models, light commercial vehicles, taxis, motor homes, quad vehicles and three-wheeled vehicles. We provide MOT testing services by appointment but always try to accommodate walk-ins.
MOTs, a legal requirement in the UK, check for different safety, roadworthiness and emission standards on your car. If it passes, we issue you with a full one-year certificate.
In the event of an MOT testing failure, our Southampton workshop performs the repair work on your behalf (subject to your approval) and presents your car for a free re-test. Remember that MOTs have mandatory status and driving without a valid certificate could lead to a fine of up to £1000.00. It could also invalidate the terms of an insurance policy.
While each of these garage services has plenty of similarities, bodywork repairs and accident repairs have some differences. We perform bodywork repairs for private customers, fleet companies and members of the trade, all from Southampton or the surrounding Hampshire area. These are nearly always ‘private’ repairs to rectify cosmetic damage on a smaller scale. In the overwhelming majority of cases, it is the customer who pays for bodywork repairs.
Accident repairs relate to collision damage, either at-fault or non-fault. The bill for the repair work usually passes down to the insurance company of the customer.
Because we have one of the best-equipped garages in the Southampton area, all bodywork repairs and accident repairs pass through an innovative low-bake oven that keeps the job clean and shortens drying times. Salek’s Motors uses modern refinishing materials to reduce VOC emissions and to ensure an optimal colour match for panels adjacent to the repair.
